PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering: Where Nature Meets the Skyline

Singapore is often described as a city of the future—a place where ultramodern skyscrapers and lush greenery coexist in perfect harmony. If there’s one hotel that truly embodies this balance, it’s PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering from Pan Pacific Hotel Group.

Located in the heart of the city, this “hotel-in-a-garden” stands out with its bold, nature-inspired design. Cascading plants, lush terraces, and an urban farm create an oasis in the middle of Singapore’s urban landscape, making it one of the most visually striking hotels in the world.

But beyond the Instagram-worthy facade, what’s it like to actually stay here? We checked in to find out.

First Impressions: A Green Marvel in the City

Singapore’s Changi Airport is always an experience in itself, and stepping into the city feels like entering a world where everything is effortlessly efficient and futuristic. As we arrived at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, it was immediately clear—this wasn’t just another luxury hotel; it was an architectural statement.

The exterior alone is breathtaking—lush plants spill over every terrace, vertical gardens climb the walls, and curving structures mimic the shape of natural rock formations. It’s as if the city’s skyline has been softened by nature.

Walking inside, we were welcomed by high ceilings, natural wood tones, and the scent of fresh greenery. Even in the lobby, the balance between modern luxury and eco-conscious design was evident.

The Room: A View Framed by Nature

Our room, like the rest of the hotel, was designed with a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the Singapore skyline, but thanks to the hotel’s signature greenery, it never felt like just another city hotel. Instead, it was as if nature had been woven into the architecture.

The space was modern and calming, with neutral tones, sustainable materials, and sleek, minimalistic decor. Despite the hotel’s location in the city center, the room felt like a sanctuary—quiet, comfortable, and bathed in natural light.

Dining: From Breakfast with a View to Farm-to-Table Ingredients

One of the highlights of our stay was the dining experience—not just because of the food itself, but because of the hotel’s commitment to fresh, sustainable ingredients.

🥑 Breakfast at Lime: Overlooking the hotel’s lush exterior, we started our day with a mix of local and international flavors. The standout? The avocado toast—simple, fresh, and perfectly done.

🍸 Cocktails with a Green Twist: Even the drinks at the hotel’s bar reflected this eco-conscious mindset. We tried cocktails garnished with herbs from the urban farm, a small but thoughtful detail that made the experience feel unique.

Exploring the Urban Farm 🌱

Just next to the Collection Club Lounge, the hotel has its own urban farm, growing over 50 varieties of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and edible flowers. These ingredients are used across the hotel’s restaurants, bars, and even in spa treatments—a small but impactful touch of sustainability in luxury travel.

Wellness & Relaxation: A Jungle in the Sky

💦 Infinity Pool with a View
One of the most iconic parts of PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering is its elevated infinity pool, surrounded by towering greenery. Floating in the water, looking out over Singapore’s skyline, it felt like being in a hidden jungle retreat—except with the city’s energy still within reach.

💆 St. Gregory Spa
For a deeper sense of relaxation, we spent some time at the award-winning St. Gregory Spa. The treatments combined traditional techniques with natural ingredients, many sourced directly from the hotel’s farm. After days of non-stop travelling, this was exactly what we needed to recharge.

🏃‍♂️ Fitness with a View
The gym was another highlight! It’s rare to find a hotel gym that feels like part of the experience, rather than just another facility, but this one delivered.

Exploring the Garden Walk

Beyond the usual hotel features, one thing that stood out was the Garden Walk—a peaceful 300-metre pathway which you can enjoy after your treatment at one of the best hotel spa in Singapore. Walking through, we couldn’t help but appreciate how seamlessly the hotel had integrated nature into every part of its design.

It’s details like these that make PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering more than just a place to sleep—it’s a destination in itself.

Best Time to Visit Singapore

🌤 Best months: December – June (dry season)
🌧 Rainy months: November – January (afternoon downpours are common, but they pass quickly)
🔥 Singapore is hot and humid year-round, so expect warm temperatures no matter when you visit.

One of the great things about PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering is that it’s a perfect hotel year-round—rain or shine, the experience remains just as enjoyable.

Final Thoughts: Who Should Stay Here?

Eco-conscious travelers looking for a hotel with sustainability at its core
Design lovers who appreciate bold, nature-inspired architecture
Couples & leisure travelers looking for a peaceful stay in the city
Business travelers who want luxury with a wellness-focused twist

PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering is not for those looking for a traditional five-star experience with opulent decor and classic luxury. This is a new kind of luxury—one that prioritizes sustainability, wellness, and design, without compromising on comfort.

Would we recommend it? Without hesitation—but especially for those who love the idea of nature meeting the city in a truly innovative way.
